About Us

Social District campsite is located on the shores of the south end of Lake Windermere in Cumbria, based in the national park. We are surrounded by beautiful hikes & fells such as Gummers How & Fell Foot with amazing views across Lake windermere.

We are a small & exclusive back to nature pop up campsite spread across 50 acres with charming woodland trials & 500 yards of lake frontage to add to the gorgeous views & make for quite unforgettable sunsets, perfect for all the family as well as pets so don’t worry about leaving the furry member of the family behind as we are a dog friendly site.

We are new as a campsite however we having been operating for many years as a scout group destination, we take pride in hosting groups across all of the UK and now open to the public.

Our focus is to provide you and your family with a remarkable getaway to an exclusive destination as we create a relaxing environment that suits spending quality time with your loved ones.

Loved everything about the Social District campsite. Beautiful fields right on lake Windermere with access to the water through a stunning oak forest. Hosts Abbie and Tom were friendly and attentive.
No overcrowding with plenty of space for all camping groups to have plenty of space.

Excellent stay with welcoming hosts! Amazing views of Lake Windermere, smart access down to the lake allowing for a very peaceful lakeside, relaxation period. Suitable for a country getaway for all ages. Very close to local shops and activities such as water sports, forest walks and site seeing.
